Addison Pacesetters (the 50+ group) meet the first Wednesday of each month at Dunn Bros. Coffeehouse on Beltline Road and learn about the Town of Addison. This month, Carol Butler, the publisher of the bi-monthly Senior Voice newspaper, spoke to us. Here are some interesting tidbits from her presentation.
- The idea for the paper was conceived 7 years ago.
- Today's circulation is 20,000 copies, 6 times a year
- There is space in the paper for poets and writers and Dallas/Fort Worth news
- Carol is not only the publisher, but the editor and owner as well
- The publication is free or a subscription can be purchased for $12/year
- A new website is under construction and will showcase events, blogs, resources and movie & book reviews.
- In the next issue of the paper - an interview with Curtis Roosevelt, great grandson of FDR, who will speak at the Dallas Public Library
Next month, the first Wednesday is March 3rd. Come out and join the Addison Pacesetters at Dunn Bros.
