Home Staging Tips for Gig Harbor Wa

In this market, sellers are reluctant to put any money at all into preparing their houses for buyers. If offers are what they desire, a small investment in time and dollars may ultimately be just what's needed to make a sale. Staging for a welcoming and inviting first impression is the perfect place to start. Here are some help full home staging tips that you could use.

Imagine you are searching for that special house, a warm and cozy home for your family to live in and take comfort from at the end of a long hard day. Your agent calls and says he's found a great house for you, it has the right number of bedrooms, a big kitchen, and even the home office you need for your business. Would you like to go and take a look at it? Your heart beats a little faster. Maybe this is the one, but being the busy business owner, parent, and spouse that you are you decide to take a look at the home's online photos before committing to driving all the way across town to see it in person.

So with hope in your heart you bring up the listing photos on your computer. What do you see?

Oh no! A boring, lifeless, somewhat shabby looking front porch. What a letdown. This can't be the place you've been looking so hard to find!

You tell your agent, "I'm really busy this weekend. Maybe if I'm out that way I'll stop by next week." Maybe they should have followed my simple home staging tips.

Now, what if you'd seen a different picture. What if someone had taken the time to set the stage for a positive first impression? maybe they had listened to my home staging tips. What if the entry was clean, a fresh coat of paint on the door, and a new mat laid in front of it? How about seeing a beautiful pot overflowing with healthy green plants brightening up the entry to the house?

Debra, great blog.  With so many potential buyers looking at pictures of homes on the internet first, I feel it is so important that these photos make a first great impression, because often you won't get a second chance.

Hi Debbie - great tips and what a lovely transformation from boring to LOOK AT ME NOW!!!  I hope that realtors read this as the old saying goes "you only get one chance to make a good first impression"  so why not do right the first time.  Thanx for sharing.

The front looks absolutely adorable now.  What a difference that would make - as long as the inside lives up to the promises!

Debra, I love how you rolled up this blog...and the pictures... what a difference!! But sadly often enough home owners do not realize what they miss out on when leaving their home in an "as is" status and do not prepare their home for selling.
