Moving Woes

hairSo you found your new HOME..... now what about a   Hair Stylist ........... Church............. Daycare........

I've moved around a lot in my life, especially while associated with the Air Force.... the three things I think are the hardest to find in your 'new place' are a Hair Stylist, Church and Daycare (not neccesarily in that order)

You and your Hair Stylist have grown to know each other.  You know how to describe the cut/style that you would like, and your Stylist knows exactly what you mean by your non-lingo descriptions - and whether your hair type will suit the style.  Changing Stylists is tough - you have to go through a good year learning curve before you can really determine if you work well together.  You can't just "go find" another one, you have to wait until you need a cut, try a Stylist, and if you aren't happy you have to wait for your hair to grow out AGAIN before you can try again, and again, and again....

Your church family becomes much like  family.  You grow to know the other members, usually sit in the about churchthe same area, and socialize with some other members.  Of course, even finding a church with the same beliefs and doctrine is important too, but that can be investigated with some phone calls or web surfing.  The worship style, fellowship style, and speaker's style can only be investigated by visiting around.  Church Shopping I call it.  I don't find it fun.

Ahhh the kids.... the best way to find a daycare center or childcare provider is to ask around.  You sure don't want to miss a beat with this decision!  There are so many ins and outs to selecting a place for your children to learn and be cared for.  I had a client point out to me the importance of the distance, mostly because if questionanything did happen that you needed to get to your child quickly, you would want to!  So close proximity to work or home?

What other things have you found to be difficult to find after a move?

PS. Before a move, you need to find a good REALTOR(R) in your area! If you are moving in the Western Suburbs of Philadelphia - contact ME! Click here for my website.

You are right, Alan, and I am honest, so I would share the fact that I hate finding those three things when I move. I haven't thought of providing such a 'personal' list of contact (do for inspectors, repairs, etc) , and I don't think I would go there regarding the church or daycare, but the hair salon is a good idea! I either have no clue or I'm drawing a blank on BNI? I'll go visit your profile :)  Thanks for stopping by!
