"Augusta, Georgia". What comes to mind when you say that?Augusta

Augusta is Georgia's second oldest city and offers more than just early-spring blooms and the lush fairways that are televised on ESPN and the Golf Channel.

RiverwalkThe scenic Riverwalk is the ideal location for a visitor to begin a tour. This picturesque garden walk meanders along the Savannah River-front. Across the street is the Augusta Museum of History which houses a number of significant artifacts. For example, James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, donated a performing outfit. Brown who grew up in Augusta, is also honored with a statue in James Brown Plaza, between 8th and 9th Streets.

Woodrow WilsonAnother historical site is the boyhood home of President Woodrow Wilson. President Wilson lived in a number of cities but Augusta can say he lived here the longest, from 1860 to 1870 while his father served as a minister of the First Presbyterian Church. The Augusta Canal is another site to see. Come out and enjoy the spectacular view from a canoe or tour boat. Regularly scheduled tours of the Augusta Canal are offered aboard the "Henry Cumming" and the "William Phillips". Both boats are replicas of vessels once used to haul cargo along the canal and Savannah River during the 19th century.

Botanical GordensThe Botanical Gardens are a must see. Located inside the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame along Reynolds Street and within walking distance from the Riverwalk is the Botanical Gardens. Their beauty is unsurpassed. Many more adventures await you in Augusta. I will be sure to list more as time allows. Until then...enjoy!

Never knew Augusta had so much. I would love to play at Augusta National though it looks so beautiful on TV.

Rick, playing the Augusta National probably will not be an option. However, you might want to get on the list to receive Practice Round Tickets - even those days are awesome!.
