By
Industry Observer with RETIRED / State License is Inactive Inactive License Oregon

The housing market is STILL in recovery.

There's activity, and in some markets some good improvements.

As a monthly feature, I'm uploading the Credit-Suisse Monthly Housing Survey . . . and here it is.  A summary of the National trends in real estate -- January 2010.

In the Metro Portland market, we still are in recovery mode, page 36 of the report.

  • Traffic improves, but still below real estate agents expectations.
  • Prices on homes fell, on average, in January.
  • Length of time needed to sell increased, on average.

That's a lot of great information to share with people my friend. We are seeing a little more traffic and much of it is centered around our lower priced homes.

Carla,

That's good information. I'm thinking of investing myself in Arizona and it still looks pretty flat.

Carla: I hope your market improves and you have a great 2010.   California has rising prices and too many buyers for all of these foreclosures.

We have been so boring for 6 months (I know I need to be careful with what I wish for!)  Just stability at the bottom as far as pricing goes.  Seeing no end to REO and short sales coming online and buyer interest extremly high gobbling it up!
