It'll Just Be a Little Sting...

By
Real Estate Agent with Re/Max Purpose Driven

My little boy had a birthday yesterday, and as a result, had his check-up at the doctor's office today.  While we were there, my big boy sat in the lab for the first time to have blood drawn from his finger tip.  The nurse said, "It'll just be a little sting..."

Needle

What?  Seriously?  That is the WORST description ever.  I can donate a pint of blood better than I can have my finger stuck for blood.  Having your finger stuck with a needle is the worst part of going to the doctor!  Knowing that the nurse is going to poke a hole in your finger, squeeze out an disproportionate amount of blood, and then your finger will be so sore you can't even type out a blog post...it's not a little sting, I tell ya!

He never even flinched.  He observed with a quiet curiosity.  I observed the whole process with white knuckles the terrible person who was squeezing blood out of my baby's fingertip.  He is such a big, brave boy.  (Did I tell you he's in the 90th percentile for height and his language skills are quite advanced?)

Anyway, the same goes for my first post -- I joined AR to network, start blogging, and learn a few new things.  Being the studious Type "A" that I am, I have read blogs and tutorials for weeks until my eyes are so dry I can barely blink.

It's time to be brave.  So, here it is -- it's just going to sting a little.  I'm told the first post is the hardest, so hang with me!  I am going to do plenty of wrong things on here.  I might offend a few people.  I might get kicked out of the Blogging Community (are there rules I should know about?), but hopefully before my exile we will share a few laughs and learn a lot from each other.  In this blog, I will write about real estate (of course!), life, love, things to do around this great state of South Carolina, and my favorite subject, my sweet boy.

I can't thank you enough for stopping by.  Come back, soon!

If you know of anyone who needs a Realtor in the Greater Columbia Area, to include Lake Murray, Lexington, West Columbia, Irmo, or the more rural areas of Lexington and Richland Counties, please give me a call or drop me an email. I would love to help you, your friends, family or your referrals if you're an agent, and you can rest assured I will take good care of them.  It's the mother in me!

Hi Nicole~  I can remember all too well the way I felt when I posted my first time!  Also, I am a RN so I can relate to your finger stick story!  I would much rather have someone take blood from my arm then stick my finger!
