Great photo Mitchell.  It makes your big city look so peaceful, but I think I'd rather stay here in rainy Oregon.

I'm actually enjoying the snow day (except for the shoveling).  I could probably use a couple more like it to finally catch up on things.

Mitchell,

Where are they putting all the snow?  do they dump it in the water?

Paul, They dump it between the street and sidewalk. You have to climb a mountain of snow when crossing the street. When it melts you have to walk through huge puddles (lakes) to cross the street. The've been preparing by salting the streets all week. Hopefully it won't turn to ice.

Hi Mitchell... when I was living in NYC I always loved how clean and pristine the city looked covered in a blanket of white fresh snow.  It was less desirable when it turned to gray slush!  :)

Hi Steve, It's already gray slush. NYC Sanitation Dept. has done a great job keeping the streets clean. Its been snowing all day but they plan and are prepared.

I love snow in NYC. Once when I flew in there it had just snowed 22 inches! That was a fun time!

Call me crazy but I love the snow, then again I am from NY originally.  Your picture may make some cringe but I sigh, then again, I currently in Arizona, one of the hottest places on earth....This is our winter.  Great post Mitchell.

That's the part of snow that is yucky - the slush and when it turns into ice - and black ice is the worst. I don't remember having black ice when I was growing up in Virginia and Atlanta, but I guess it's always been around.
