Foreclosures and making a killing ???

By
Real Estate Agent with Merit Co Inc

I received an email today rambling on about the number of foreclosures that are anticipated to hit the market 'shortly' and in these reamblings a statement was made on how we can make a 'killing'.

I truely take offence to this sort of comment - no wonder the public look at us Realtors as vultures.

How on earth can working hard for your money, spending hours and hours on the telephone, doing research, counselling sellers and much more be construed as 'making a killing', when it finally gets to the closing table - IF it gets to the closing table.

Please people, I know you are trying to drum up your own business and a lot of what is written is hype - but please don't insinuate that I am only in this industry to make a 'killing'.

It needs to be made known that Realtors are here to help people in distress if they can, they are here to advise the consumer of their rights and allow them to make the decision on how to deal with their loan - we are not here to 'make a killing' - lets encourage the banks to deal with the consumer to the consumers advantage, not 'ours'.

Let's be a little more diplomatic on how we advertise our expertise.

I love your name BTW but I think you miss the mark. I have never met a seller that didn't want "make a killin". As Realtors we should always take advantage of great buys, deals etc.

I love to go on listing appointments when the other agent is a renter. Come on if as Realtors if we don't own why sould anyone else. If we can't find a great or even a good buy to make us a homeowner then how can we sell to others.

I want my sellers to make a killin and I want my buyers to get a killer deal. I want to own as much property as I can and anyone else should too. JMHO

Sallyann, Buyers or sellers have no idea the time and research spent to best serve their needs and expectations. Realtors and loan officers are the ones dealing with the problems banks are failing to address. Keep up the good work.
