Is print media a thing of the past in this digital world?

I have been reading post after post about effective marketing in today's real estate world.  One thing that seems to be a common response (and maybe it's because I am on AR) is that Printed marketing, mailing, advertising etc is a thing of the past and it is all about the internet and blogging and websites etc.  I still print fliers for my listings, still send out printed newsletters and still send postcards to my SOI and farm area.  My question is all of this a waste of time and money?  Have we officially entered into the Digital Age, where people aren't interested in paper anymore?  Just curious to hear your thoughts.

I am big believer in advertising online, however, I do believe if you don't send out mailings, etc. you are ruling out a whole group of people who don't use the internet as much.  I do both digital and paper.  I sent out calendars this past holiday season and received 3 leads from it.

Maybe it's just anecdotal but everytime we swear-off newspaper advertising we get a call from a newspaper ad, i.e., open house, etc. That being said most real estate related newspaper advertising doesn't seem to yield great results these days.

Print advertizing seems so expensive now compared to the cost of a good website and the leads it can bring you.

I am a fan of paper - for marketing and as a recipient.  I think it's wise to use both.

Thanks for the response.  I agree with Melissa, that both can be very effective and can capture a different market.  I think I will up the amount of online marketing (Since you are right, Jessica, it is so much more affordable) and continue with my paper media, but perhaps on a smaller scale.
