Bad Weather, Bad for Business...Not So!!!

Real Estate Agent with Ultima Real Estate T.R.E.C #564080

As many in the country have experienced the onslaught of mother nature as of late, I've heard many agents decry this is somehow bad for business.  Now, I will state the obvious and agree that most people don't like shoveling thru snow to go view a property and most will stay home when it is raining cats and dogs on the day of your open house.  However, there is more to our profession than just showing homes and touring properties, so take advantage of the snowy, rainy, frigid weather and choose to grow your business.

How many agents have neglected using the telephone to connect with contacts and acquaintances they've met over the years?  The recent cold and rainy days have afforded me more time than ever to do that very thing.  In addition, I've taken an online course to enhance my knowledge of the industry.  Heck, I'm even taking the time to connect with other agents thru blogging and other social internet sites at our disposal.

Ultimately, these are all things that make for good business and these are things that many agents find themselves too often neglecting.  We get too busy and overwhelmed with running from property to property until we loose sight of the common sense things that will help our business grow.  "Mother Nature" has given us a gift, and whether your city is stuck in snow/ice or filled with flood waters galor; take advantage of whatever the situation and I bet you will find that it is possible to have good business on bad weather days!!!

First - Welcome to Activerain! Its always exciting starting out. You recently read my posts about commenting on other blogs, and I appreciate the comment.

You are so right about some agents thinking they can do nothing since the weather is cold or snowy. Phone communication/follow-up, or email campaigns, or heck... even write a few posts with Activerain. I've had much success with my outside blog and website.

If you have any questions about Activerain, feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to assist.
