Sometimes it takes teamwork to get a seemingly impossible job done!

Snow in Coweta County GAWhile touring the countryside looking for the perfect “snow” photo yesterday, we happened across an unfortunate motorist who had slid off the road into  a deep drainage depression.

It was a miracle the car did not flip over, as the drop from the road was significant. But luckily, all four wheels were still on the ground.

The driver, although very badly shaken, was unharmed. And the car was not damaged. The only real problem was getting the car back on the road!

I guess we could have called a wrecker, but several passers-by had stopped, and we instinctively got behind the car, instructed the driver to gently tough the accelerator, and we all pushed together and moved the car forward through the ditch until we came to a cross street.

No one said much during the rescue effort, other that ‘push” but by working together as a team we made a tough job easy, and the relieved driver was on her way!

It’s amazing what can be accomplished when individuals unite together for a common purpose.

And when the job is done, it feels pretty good!

Richard - Getting behind someone in distress and providing a hand be it out of a ditch or out of a trying time is a commendable endeavor.

I just got back from working all day! Thanks so much for all of the comments. The streets are better now but the temperature is dropping below freezing now so there will be some more ice!

Its always good to hear of people - especially strangers - helping each other.  I'm sure that motorist feels very fortunate to have people come to his aid.  PS - Gorgeous photo.  I love black and white photos and drawings.

Hi Richard, we all need help in our lives, even when we don't think we do. It is a great act of human kindness to pull together in a common cause. Best to you!

Good job Richard. I am sure the motorist was happy for a lot of reasons. I was hoping for a photo of the scene, but the one you have here is a great example of winter in Georgia.

I carry a strap in the truck for just such an occasion...  WAY easier to hook up and drag than to push.

All I can say is, Wow, Richard. One, on the fantastic photo - reminds me of here in CT; and on the help...it isn't that often that you find situations like that, where people are willing to pitch in and lend a helping hand. That says alot about the people who engage in such acts of kindness - believe me, it shall not go unrewarded.

Hi Richard, I can't imagine getting too much done without teamwork. I think things would move better in most industries if people were reminded of this.

Great pic by the way.

Rich, nice to meet another good samaritan. I was in the same situation last winter trying to help someone and it was nice to see everyone pitch in and help.

Richard,

Thanks for these comments. I know how much I have appreciated being on the receiving end of these acts of kindness. The amount of great and wonderful people clearly outweigh those who are not. Thanks.

Pretty awesome Richard! You must have made that driver feel so much better after such a scary time.  I bet it did make you feel great and you made his day as well.  Good for you!
