Home Inspection Cedar Rapids IA, Waterloo IA, We are not the Judge of what the buyers motivation is.
I have talked with many real estate agents and brokers who have expressed concern over what might be said by a home inspector in regards to the condition of the home vs the asking price during the course of a home inspection .
In my opinion it is not the job of a home inspector to be commenting on the price vs condition of a home, before, during or after the home inspection has been completed.
When someone calls Eastern Iowa Inspection Services for a home inspection they will be asked several questions about the subject property including the listing price. This information is for order processing and has no bearing whatsoever on how the home inspection is performed.
As the old adage goes, "one man's trash is another man's treasure". As the home inspection company we are not the judge of how much the house is worth based on its condition. Let's leave that up to others. The way I see it, the buyer retains our services to gain a better understanding of the what they are getting into. We are to provide an accurate and reasonable assessment of the condition of the property, period.

If a home buyer or seller is fortunate enough to choose a good home inspection company, they will get much more than a cold assesment of the property. A home inspector with a good construction background will not only be able to provide a superior home inspection, but be able to provide the clients with great advice and tips on the maintenance and repair issues that may be encountered during the course of the inspection.
In summary, it is not the job of the home inspector to judge or question the motivation of the home buyers. Placing our focus on providing an awesome home inspection and giving as much useful information as we can to the client is where we should be.
