Here's my most recent video. Nothing very fancy here but I ended up telling my clients that the fault that was found just isn't correctable in any practical way. Hate it when that's the case and especially in a brand new home.
This was a house built in 2008 that has not yet been occupied - they were using it as the model home - so there's a limited warranty on the place. The buyers wanted to get ahead of the curve and hired me to go through the house to help them develop a punchlist.
The siding issue was actually the least of our concerns - there was an inch of water over about 1000sf of the crawlspace among other things.
Anyway, on to the video - and my apologies, I will get better at stabilizing the camera - this one's a bit jerky.

Paul, what ARE we going to do with these builders?:) I see this about 95% of the time----still wrong 100% of the time.

Thanks, MaryBeth!
Charlie, I keep trying to explain the difference between normal and acceptable. Figure we have the rest of our lives....just hoping that it doesn't take that long! :)

Interesting to see a repeated problem like that. It is tough to see things like that when there is not an easy solution.

Rob,
Oh, it's easy enough to see. :) I just hate telling people that it's not feasible to correct. Being the bearer of bad news gets old sometimes. Nature of the job.

Got a call from the builder on the house in the video.
Man, it was really refreshing. He wasn't happy about the video but instead of screamng at me, we talked about ways to avoid this issue in the future. He had some great points on the issues invovled and other problems that might be created depending on the fix.
He found the problem with the water in the crawlspace and has already fixed it plus mitigated the existing water. Super-responsive and wants the buyers to love the house.
Very cool guy!
