Where is your landlord?

We don't know for certain, but there's a good chance that your landlord is home counting the money you paid him.  Right now, he may even be planning how to get even more from you next year, and the year after.

Landlords aren't necessary bad people.  They just want to make a big profit like everyone who's in business.  Your rent payment helps the landlord in several ways.  You are helping him pay off the mortgage on the property he owns.  That increases his equity in the building and helps him continue to build wealth.  Thank you.  Your rent helps him pay the interest on the loan you are helping him pay off too.  He gets to write off the interest you pay on his behalf, along with the property taxes.  Your rent payments make it possible for the landlord to get lots of tax benefits.  Thank you.  Your landlord does quite well with your help and money.  He also gets to have a dog and you don't.

Did you know that you can have many of the same benefits your landlord enjoys at your expense?  Isn't it time you got on with your life?  Fire your landlord.

Mike,

I am all for home ownership, as we sell and lease property here in Atlanta.  I am definitely seeing an upswing in leasing at all price levels because folks are just concerned about where our market and economy is headed.

All of your points are valid.  This would also be a good concept to share with investors about why to buy!

All the best, Michelle

More opinions than you want to hear about.

Michelle, thanks for the reply.  First time homebuyers are investors too.  They are investing in personal freedom and a better lifestyle for themselves and their families.

Investors already know why they should buy.  They should buy so they can use the renters' money to get rich.  What better incentive is there?  I love 'em all.

Fire your landlord! That would make a good title.

For some people, firing that landlord makes great sense.
