Okay, This is What I Get for Being a Smart Alec...

Okay, this is what I get for being a Smart Alec last week, snow on bamboo and teasing my northern neighbors about their weather.

Retribution!

I found myself snowbound in the sunny south this weekend. Won't be firing up that grill on my little patio today! My poor bamboo was pratically bent down to the ground with the weight of the snow. snow as seen through the window screen

These  photos were taken from the inside looking out, (of course). The whole town of metro Atlanta was practically shut down for this inch or so of snow!

Well, it WAS pretty, even if it didn't last long. In the few years that I've been here, this is the most snow I've seen. Most of that time, there has in fact been a drought. So I won't complain about the current precipitation.

Anyhow, we still didn't get as much of the white stuff as my friends in Pittsburgh!

Yea Elva, it never fails does it. We here in Gettysburg are getting record amounts of snow with little end in sight, in fact it is snowing right  this moment as I write this...great pics

Good thing bamboo is hearty stuff.  Rehoboth Beach, DE, has mountains of snow everywhere!  This, too, shall pass.

Gerry and Dianne - I hope the snow hasn't shut down the your cities. But if it has, at least you've had some unexpected "free" time (which, if you are like me, you probably used to get something else done, anyway).

I hope you used some of that time to just relax and enjoy the beauty of winter.

I'm glad you are enjoying some of the white stuff.  It sure has been a strange winter so far.

Although I'm in New England, we have had a very mild winter so far.  We just had snow and are covered in white once again, but temps are supposed to rise this weekend and we just might be snow free again.

Being from the south I know how little you guys can handle when it comes to the white stuff.  Up here though the 2984 feet of snow we got this week alone only cripples us for 2 days

We experienced something similar. It was snowing everywhere and then it finally started here. We ended up with over 12 inches. It leaves us pretty quickly, but it did last for 3 days this time.

I know. My girlfriend sent me an email that said it has been reported that every state, all 50 including Hawaii, got some amount of snow over the past week, even if it was just a flurry on a mountaintop (Hawaii).

I think everyone in Atlanta is just over the snow now.  3 times in 3 months now.
