The Five Towns on Long Island - Inwood, NY (Town 3 of 5)
The Five Towns is an informal grouping of towns located in Nassau County, NY on the South Shore of Long Island. The Five Towns is normally considered to be made up of: Lawrence, Cedarhurst, Woodmere (and Woodsburgh), Inwood and Hewlett (Hewlett Bay Park, Hewlett Neck, Hewlett Harbor).
The name "Five Towns" dates back to 1931, when individual Community Chest groups in the area banded together to form the "Five Towns Community Chest".
The Five Towns area is a great area to live work and play.

- Located on the South Shore of Long Island we are minutes from the soft sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.
- Just over 2 hours from skiing in New York's Catskill Mountains and New Jersey.

- Choice of many different school districts depending on your needs.
I will detail a different town every day. Today I am going to focus on Inwood.
Inwood is the first of the 5 Towns after Far Rockaway. It is located between Far Rockaway and Cedarhurst. Inwood is 5 minutes from the ocean beaches of Atlantic Beach NY.
It is home to the Inwood Country Club, a private golf club. It is minutes from the beaches of Atlantic Beach and the Rockaways.
Recently completed in Inwood is Yeshiva Ketana of Long Island. Yeshiva Ketana of Long Island has established itself as an institution that personifies excellence in education and personal attention for each child. The Yeshiva's curriculum and academic programs are highly acclaimed and its graduates are actively recruited by top mesivtas. In order to provide the optimal educational environment for the Yeshiva's current and future students, the Yeshiva purchased an approximately two- acre property located at 321 Doughty Blvd in Inwood which will be the site of the new YKLI campus. The future home of Yeshiva Ketana of Long Island will house the Yeshiva's pre-school and its elementary school in a modern and spacious facility.
New construction is heating up in Inwood. Two homes are currently being built on Morris Avenue, and more are slated to start in the area shortly.
Inwood is a short drive from shopping areas that include Staples, Office Max, Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory, Brach's, Gourmet Glatt and more.
Inwood is located in Lawrence School District 15.
