Curb appeal equals selling

Home owners do not know the importance of a well cared for lawn when it comes to selling their home! A very large percentage of home buyers decide whether or not they want to live in a home before they even step into the front door! Most home buyers will do a drive by before they even call their agent to take a look inside. They seriously look at the curb appeal-the view they see when they drive by or arrive for a showing. You can help make sure they want to come inside your house by spending some time working on the its exterior appearance.

It's difficult for home owners to look at their own homes the same way that potential home buyers do, because after living in a home for a long time we become accustomed to the way something looks and functions. We can't see its faults. You have to ddecide now before your ever put it up for sale to stop thinking of the property as a home. Remember it's a house a commodity you want to sell for the highest price possible.

I would recommend you take the time to look at the homes for sale in you neighborhood and look at the appearance of them from the outside. Then take a ride by your own home and see how it stand out. Remember you are thinking as a buyer looking at the different homes you would buy.

Loretta:  I was with clients this evening and even when it was getting dark, they were commenting on whether or not a house had curb appeal.  They're already thinking about when it's their turn to sell!

I wish more sellers understood this. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to show a great house(inside) to a client and they say "oh, just go on to the next property" because of the yard being unkept.
