Like Rats Fleeing the Sinking Ship . . . The "BAIL-OUT" of the 21st Century

Industry Observer with RETIRED / State License is Inactive Inactive License Oregon

We all talk about the "BANK BAIL OUTS" . . .  which OVERSHADOWS one fact:

MILLIONS OF AMERICANS have made -- or will make -- a "BAIL OUT" OF THEIR OWN . . .

1)  Banks get bail outs

2)  Homeowners are FORCED to Bail OUT!

3)  Politicians appear to be "BAILING" too . . .

Are you following the news?  Do you find it the interesting that Sen. Evan Bayh has decided to bail-out 'retire' from his Senate seat?  He's a relatively young man with a future in politics, but he decided to BAIL RETIRE.  Why is that??  Maybe he smells such rotting and decaying flesh he can't figure out how to hold his nose any longer.  The new ad campaign slogan for any politician that wants to use it is:  "Don't Fire Me . . . I Quit!"

I'm not Democratic or Republican:  they ALL sink stink!  NO ONE has helped the American public.  The Dems and Reps should merge and call themselves the OSTRICH party.

Not one 'voted / elected' official has done SQUAT for their constituents

How do I know?

Because the NEXT WAVE TSUNAMI hasn't even hit yet, and that will come in the form of two things: a CREDIT CRUNCH and INFLATION.

Since Fall 2008 no one in Congress has set out to work on anything even remotely SUBSTANTIVE to HELP AMERICAN Homeowners.

Loan Modifications are a JOKE!!  Short Sales are another one.  And Foreclosures are the kick them when they're down finality.

MILLIONS of Americans' credit is ruined or will be.  You do realize that, don't you?!?   You think loans are going to be as they were 2-3 years ago?  Have a bankruptcy back then . . . no problem, as long as it was 3 years (water under the bridge) FHA gave you a loan.  You think those loans are going to happen any time soon?

Americans are PENALIZED with RUINED CREDIT! with ANY of the below:

  • Short sale -- your credit is ruined.
  • Foreclosure -- your credit is ruined.
  • Bankruptcy -- your credit is ruined.

And in the years to come . . . are they going to qualify to purchase anything? (That's the CREDIT CRUNCH)

And if they do get a credit card, or mortgage . . . at what interest rates? (That's the INFLATION)

Millions of Americans are forced to "BAIL-OUT" of their homes, and their CREDIT IS RUINED.  Banks are staying afloat EITHER WAY!!  Either through Uncle Sam, or through hikes in ALL THINGS banking.

Why do I keep repeating:  Businessmen, they drink my wine!

It's getting hard out here for a currency speculator, stock investor, banker PIMP, with a whole lotta  politicians err, I mean rats bitches bailing jumping ship.

Thanks for the post. You are so right. We all need to wake up and take action! Sorry that Ross feels that this isn't the platform for politics...Nice to see some real teeth in a post vs just talking about a listing. We are all small business owners and every action the government takes affects us and our clients. Way to go Carla!

The poop is hitting the fan as Americans seem to finally have had it up to here with the political nonsense. I believe good will come from this since in the end the spirit of the individual always rises. The leaders (jokers) have lost their way and it might get worse before it gets better. The clown's show is about to end. It's time that leaders think about the people they serve and not their own political aspirations.

One more thing...having credit has been the biggest lure and noose around the neck of the public...

"You deserve credit."  I grew up being taught that you saved for what you want...I got hoodwinded like the millions of American to the line of doo doo and it didn't end good.  I say stop keeping any credit card balances (PERIOD!)  It's been working for me.

Hi David. . . thanks!  Ehumor, that's a good one.  SEE you're funny too!  Yes, the recovery, I'm treading water.

Hey J. Bastille -- LOL.  Now, if we could get the kool aid in the tea pot .;-)

Hi Paula . . . thanks.  I'm so non-political, but what's happening is wrong.  I'm very concerned about our "rent-a-car" politics.  My theory is:  When you rent a car, you drive it like it's not yours, because it's not.  Our politicians are treating America as if it's a rental car.

Hey Michael -- the problem with Ostriches . . . their back sides are quite exposed.

Hi Missy . . . I actually learned that in Real Estate School.  I wish I saved my study guide to quote from it.  Inflation happens.

Hey Andresl -- hmmmm . . . I'm more of the Queen of Hearts, Alice in Wonderland mentality   ;-)

Hi William . . . "I stole my personality from an anonymous source."   ;-)

Hey Tony -- It was a surprise to me, 'cause it's such a bitch slap to people, who I like to refer to as: Americans.

Hi David . . . I don't advocate not paying your bills.  That's gonna ruin your credit too!  We aren't a "cash" based economy and it's very tough on people when things like this happen.

Hey Patricia -- "The grass is greener over the septic tank" Irma Bombeck

Hi Krista . . . That's a great bumper sticker!!

Hey Karen -- Absolutely!!

Hi Andrew . . . or silver!

Hey Lane -- There are too many cooks helping in the kitchen (cooking the books!)

Hi Michael . . . click on the blog link (that's a good blog too IMHO). It was Bob Dylan, Hendrix covered it.

Hey Ross -- sorry you feel that way.  I don't because EACH DAY I see the listings, and the number of shorts sales, REO's . . . are staggering in my area.

Hi Larry . . . this is what I liked in your comment:  "I don't care what party you are in if you don't stop the spending you must go!"

Hey Mark -- don't buy into the fear.  It's the reality now, and policians need to focus on one thing, Americans.  We're not in High School, and we're not voting on the Senior Class President.  This is real . . . real life.  Politicians need to do two things:  Grow up, and grow a pair.

Hi John . . . yes, it's not helping people, who I like to refer to as:  Americans.

Hey Marc -- to misquote Kanye:  Politicians don't care about Americans.

Carla, it just doesn't seem fair, does it? Banks get money that is supposed to help the public - but all the public gets is the boot!

Great Rant! Many good points. Thou make no mistake the politicians are quiting because they know they will be thrown out on their behind come November. Bigger government is not the solution to the problem. It only makes things worse. Infact we have put the same people in charge of fixing the problems that created them in the first place. Look what their solution is, it's bigger government. they are only making things worse.

Don't cry for Senator Bayh or think his motives are totally pure. He has a 13 million dollar war chest that he gets to keep for not running. For all of you who contributed to him you should get a thank you letter for making him rich.

Mr Guru, Kim and last but not least, Carla.   Was a long, long day full a attitudes, must have absorbed so of it.  All politicians leave a sour taste, even the ones speaking about change.  Whats disappointting to me is how we all want to believe in them, even with Bush, we wanted to believe.   Carla, the truth is starting to hurt and it's getting pretty near impossible to be optomistic.  The auto industry bailout blew any remaining respect I had for governmemt.  Whats next?  Thanks all.

Sounds like the same old song and dance. I remember reading here (and many other blog sites) how the world was going to end a year or two ago. Count me in the camp of burying my head in the sand and keeping my personal goals and life in check. For all the people worrying about politics and credit crunches and banks and corporations and inflations and conspiracies and etc. etc. etc., good luck with that. I have houses to go sell.

Carla, I appreciate the your common sense thoughts on the subject. But, we are not going to see much deflation - except what you have already seen on reduction of inventory by government and private sector rebates and incentives. We are going to see INFLATION. And, the government with our military is our largest employer - I don't think there is going to be any reduction of that work force.

What do you call a hundred politicans at the bottom of the Potomac? A good start.

Hi Wayne . . . I think #36 needs to read your comment!

Hey Sharon -- For many the situation just seems to blow over their head.

Hi Matthew . . . I agree.

Hey Joe -- Yup.  Don't cry for me Argentina constituents.

Hi Ross . . . whew, good thing I'm last, but not least! My blog point exactly.  I have no respect.  They're all Pimps.

Hey Andrew -- for many Americans, that occured.  Their world did alter greatly.  You go sell those houses.  And when that dries out, they'll be plenty of sand to go and do your thing.  And go read "The Grapes of Wrath."  Just because we don't see the dust storms don't mean there are none.

Hi Gregory . . . I already see inflation.  The costs of goods (especially groceries) have gone up, utilities here are going up 7%.  I notice these "little" hikes.

You said it.  Not only have groceries gone up they've also gotten smaller.  Except beer and wine, they're getting bigger.

Could not improve ONE bit on what you wrote.

My business as a mortgage broker-40 years of Ethical service-has been crushed in the last twelve month with Political posturing and BS making our industry the Sole scapegoat while many of those including Banks are getting Bailout money, and making Obscene profits thatnks to our Politicians.

While in the past I have been a Republican, I feel that Both Parties have sold us out over Greed and Power.

Great post and insight.

Great job!  To add more fuel to your fire check out a new Frontline episode regarding Brooksley Born, Deriatives, 1998 and the amount of regulation imposed on the deriatives markets since 2008.  Watch it...

Or, I can save you the time.  Big Warning flag was thrown by a very dedicated & ethical derivatives attorney in 1998 warning of the impending disaster (crisis was averted in "98), they pushed her out to quiet her.  Sat back and waited for the big bomb to go off in 2008.  Since then, ZERO NEW REGULATION.

Professional treatment of our clients, brings awes

Carla, we are really facing some challenges. It is amazing how much control is exercised behind the sences everyday.  People buy a home have it 3 years make the payment and no principle is paid down, the banks make the interest and get the house in the end.

Hi Ross -- yes the cans are getting smaller, and ice cream cartons (which is probably a good thing).  Cost the same.  A gallon is still a gallon, and a dozen is still a dozen.

Hey Thor . . . Politicians aren't of the people, by the people.  They are all self-motivated pimps.

Hi Deanna -- I checked out Ms. Born, and from the "Pimp Model of Politics" perhaps she seemd like a uppity ho??

Hey Erica . . . keep talking, keep blogging, don't become complacent.  And watch who is trying to score Brownie Points trying to make it all better . . .

Hi Mike -- and that's why Jesus preached about the meek . ..  and something about inheriting the earth.  I don't bow down to men, no matter how 'big' they "think" they are.

Hey Joseph . . . they do not care.  The FHA, Fannie and Freddie, et al. allowed Americans to purchase homes.  The minute the market turned south, the collective gov did absolutely nothing but kick these homeowners out.  The gov put them in, the gov kicked them out.

Hi Nick -- You SAID IT!!  The banking industry DESIGNED that system.  They created the first 3-7 years of SHEER interest payment -- the creme off the top -- no principle reductions.  The created a system, and when homeowners got bogged down by it (decline in values/equity) they left us ALL out to dry.  That's why I call them PIMPS.
