Finally our children in Howard County and Baltimore County went back to school today. The first school day since February 5th (and that was a half day!!!)
"But it stopped snowing last Thursday" you may say!
Well, yes this is true, but the extreme amounts of snow in Maryland have created a nightmare for the school system. The parking lots (for teachers to park in) have not been cleared. The sidewalks have not been cleared, so the "walkers" are in danger and there is no-where for the children to stand at the usual "bus stops"
Mothers Day Out Westchesteris the pre-school that my son attends. The snow is piled high and there is limited parking.
TODAY THEY OFFERED VALET (CHILD) PARKING
An e-mail was sent out to parents : Parking -Currently there is no parking in front of the building. The circle was plowed but you cannot park there without blocking traffic. The 2 lots are mostly cleaned with patches of ice. As you pull into the school we will have our staff outside to help get the children out of the cars and into the school safely so the parents will not have to park and walk them in.
Brilliant
I pulled up, I was met by Miss Kimberly and Miss Deb, I un-snapped the car seat, I handed her the lunch box, kissed my son goodbye and I was on my way!
Can we do that EVERY day?
Thank you MDOW for going above and beyond.
