Do Realtors like the idea of virtual / conceptual staging?

By
Home Stager with Ski Utah Real Estate

I've heard a lot of opinions about virtual / conceptual home staging from home stagers. But I am curious what realtors think about it. Virtual / conceptual home staging is basically taking a photo of a vacant room and photoshopping in furniture and accessories to give an idea of what it could look like staged.

Would you, the Realtor, suggest this type service to your seller?

Do you think it is decieving?

Just curious of the thoughts from fellow Realtors out there!

I think it is deceiving becuase you walk into the house with the table set one way and then you see the "real thing" So it is a turn off as well

If I viewed pictures of a virtual / conceptual home, toured it, and learned that the interior was actually different from the pictures I would feel misled and lose trust in the listing agent and probably the buyer's agent.  I understand the concept, but the element of trust is already fragile between the public and Realtors.  Why risk damaging it further?

Thanks for your response Charlie! I think you are right that it can be decieving, however, if a buyer knows that it's virtually staged do think they might appreciate what it could look like? Just like what interior designers do for a space to show their clients how they can design the room. (Aside from changing things like wall color and lightfixtures etc. of course!)

Thanks Rick! I agree! I think it needs to be made known that it's virtual furniture and nothing else better be virtually added or changed to make it look different.
