Sales Go Smoother When Agents Get Along....Why Can't That Happen More?

I just had a closing two days ago with a wonderful agent!

It is so much fun to know that when an offer comes from another Realtor, that Realtor is not a diva and is looking to get the job done.

To the agent I just referred to......thank you, thank you, thank you! It was a pleasure to work with you.

The sad thing is that when an agent does his/her job, we don't get an opportunity to talk often.

But know that good and great agents without difficult personalities always hold a dear place in my heart. I show their properties when I have a buyer.

On the other side of that coin, I just finished, or did I??? an offer with a double diva agent.  It really was the most awful experience.

She was insulting and brash at best. What's worse is that she really made it difficult to put the deal together.  I can't write to the seller, but the seller really should know.

She accused my clients of creating a crack in the ceiling because, she claimed that they stomped their way around the house during a home inspection.  Really??? Isn't that insulting to me and my client??? She wouldn't negotiate the original offer until she had a pre approval then called the mortgage professional when it did come through about a week later. This would have been the 3rd sale I did with her family. You would have thought this agent would have at least made the phone call to her seller and made the counter offer or acceptance of offer conditional on seeing the pre approval.  That didn't happen.

My clients were really in love with the house, but because there were defects in the house, other recent neighboring sales in the neighborhood, and because of the behavior of the listing agent, they decided to reduce their offer.

I reported this to this diva agent days ago and no response.  Texted her to make sure she got the offer....no response. Sent an email again with the offer...no response.

Why can't some agents stop thinking so highly of themselves and just get the job done???
