Parks In Grants Pass, Oregon

ParksTalk about a "Park-like setting."  We only have 32,000 people in Grants Pass, but we enjoy 16 city Parks, 19 county Parks, and numerous state and federal Parks and forests.

Ever wonder how it came to be that one section of the country could be so beautiful?

ParksWell, if the creator who made this world could live anywhere he wanted, don't you suppose it would be in the best of all places?

Welcome to God's country.

Gary:  From the two times I drove through or by Grants Pass... the entire area is a "park."  What beauty.  Nothing that I would call "over-done"... just nice and "natural."  Just more examples of Mother Nature's Artistry.

She paint a pretty picture, doesn't She ?

Hi Karen.  We moved here about 18 months ago, and we still feel like we're on vacation.

Gary:  I know it's wrong to end a sentence with a preposition, but where did you move from ?

Karen, We moved from Beaverton, Oregon, which is a suburb of Portland.  Grants Pass is only 240 miles south of Portland, but what a change in climate, both weather and politics.  It's much drier here and we have four seasons rather than only two (cold rain and warm rain).  When we first looked at moving, we had narrowed it down to Grants Pass or Rapid City, South Dakota.  Grants Pass won out because of its' lower population and fewer tourists than Rapid City.

Gary you really live in an area where you are surrounded by beauty.  There is just so much in our natural surroundings to appreciate.

Thanks for sharing.

Gary:  I have been to Beaverton.  Just west of Portland on the way to Hillsboro.  I spent five weeks in that area some years ago.  Thirty-five days there... and it rained on thirty-three of them.

It was very pretty there... but for someone who was prone to bronchial pneumonia... I had to get out of there pronto.
