Town News.... The local university's swim lessons are ones that people wait in line for to get the best schedule/time for their children. This could happen at any pool - and you should be aware of it as we are in the midst of summer.....
Some friends of mine saw the hand written sign..... Due to the storm last night, our filter is broken, we added more chemicals and the pool is fine. Lessons were not cancelled, and the sign was supposed to explain why the water was 'murky'.
Needless to say, pools should not be operated when a filter has
malfunctioned in any way. The filter has a job to do - they filter visable matter out of the pool water.
Many children and adults got sick. They did not cancel the swim lessons until they were instructed by the Chester County Health Department. Channel 6 ABC/Philadelphia TV station ran this story.
I'm helping to get the news out there - if you know of any children (or adults) who swam at West Chester University's Swimming Pool and have any Gastrointestinal Illness, please encourage them to see a Physician immediately. And they should NOT swim with a GI until cleared by a Physician.
