Oregon Home Staged-Listed-Sold — All in a Week!

Home Stager with Creative Concepts-Home Staging and Contracting, Salem Oregon CCB #180695

Take a typical 3 bedroom 1 bath Salem Oregon home in a NE neighborhood (NE is not considered the hot real estate hub of Salem for those not living in Salem).

Add one savy owner who updated the paint and carpet with some good choices . . . and here’s the results:

The curb appeal was challenging – especially the path to the doorway.

And while this home does look nice — as you can see it is just . . . . .

another beige vacant box.

What size are the rooms?

Over 90% of buyers shop first on the internet. Currently there are at least 40 comparable listings on the multiple listing service . This home and these photos won’t stand out!  Instead of making an appointment to view the home, the potential buyer continues looking online until something more interesting catches their attention.

This house was listed for about $150,000.  Why would anyone stage a house that was in that price range?

Because while the average days on market in this area is over 150 days, this house received an offer within 5 days.

Using materials the owner had onhand, a new path was made and curb appeal was improved!

Simple, basic staging was hired - even though the price point is low, this seller knew the value of having the home show well before it was listed.

Receiving an offer in five days in any market is great!  In January 2010 - the sellers knew it was fabulous!  They knew by preparing well, pricing correctly and staging their home they improved their odds of selling quickly!

How right you are staging does make a difference; especially, in today's market. A seller needs to do everything they can to make their home stand out apart from the crowd. Congratulations on the sale.

Pat - Thanks for commenting!  You are so right - sellers can do so much to improve and make their homes stand out.  Don't you love it when they realize how important it is?

Barb - Thanks Barb -- I loved how they used what they had along with some cement between the stones and made a nearly free walkway!  That and some pruning and WOW - Curb appeal!

So many people forget that the outside of the home needs to be staged just as much as the inside, it is all about 1st impressions.
