This weekend most of us in Baton Rouge got outdoors. It was a gorgeous, sunny 68 degrees. The first nice day in this part of Louisiana this year. Why we braved unusually cold days all thru the parades of Mardi Gras, wrapped up in winter mittens and hats.
I decided to take my grandsons to the Baton Rouge Zoo. Have you been there lately? While some ot the old favorites like the diesel locomotive train are still there circling the peremiter, there are some new additions as well. In May the new state of the art Tiger habitat will open. And there are a few new babies growing well. We were fascinated by one of the fruit bat's baby hanging from the ceiling. It was so tiny and tucked under her wing hardly noticeable until she stretched and his little head peeked out. Another of their favorites this weekend was the native Louisiana animal show in the ampitheatre. They got to touch an alligator, a snake, a turtle, and see other animals such as a screetch owl. A really nice outling I would recommend for you and your family soon.
