I joined ActiveRain a while ago, and I can never get to blog, there is something there that is always distracting me from it, should we call it procrastinating !!!! Oh well, I am a Realtor in Rancho Bernaardo California, tri-lingual and one of my goals this week is to start blogging !!! So here I am.
Thank you all for the support !!!! I am going to give it a try.
I just came back from Caravaning here in Escondido, California. It is amazing what is going on. On properties in the 200.000/300.000 price range, they are having multiple offers, and the offers are going up the roof. Same buyer is putting offers in 4 or 5 properties at the same time. Crazy !!!!!! Help !!!
Joyce, congratulations, beginning is the battle half won. Consistency is how you achieve success in blogging. Once your blog runs cold, followers loose interest. Enjoy what you are doing and things will happen. ~Karen
Howdy and evenen there Joyce
Welcome to the AR community, it sure is a whole lot of fun to blog. Back when I first joined the community, I had not even read a blog. Just jump right on in and write some blog posts, letten folks know about your area, things you like to do. Just be yourself and have alot of fun.
Joyce, welcome to Active Rain. If you are looking for tips on what to blog about, go to the search box and type in "what to blog about" and you will see that you are not the only one with this thought. There are a number of blogs there to give you suggestions. Also, being in Active Rain means being Active. Read my blog here. You will want to spice up your blog with pictures and links. Put in key words to drive traffic to your blog. Repeat the title of your blog in the first sentence. Bold type some of your keywords. It isn't as hard as we make it on ourselves.
Posted my first blog today. The hardest thing is your first. Then you hit publish and take a deep breath.
Remember your 1st listing appointment, and getting it.
Hi Joyce, I am new to blogging and active rain too! Welcome! I have now done a few posts and what I find interesting is when I check my website traffic around the days I have new posts my web traffic goes up. No new business from it yet..but I feel it will come.
Good morning Joyce. Welcome to Active Rain. I hope you enjoy as much as I do!
I'm with you Joyce! I just became a Rainmaker, had my first training class today and my head is spinning. But I guess it's just like learning how to ride a bike - practice makes perfect (or at least becomes comfortable) and becomes second nature. I look forward to being an active member with all these wonderful members!
Hi Joyce! Welcome to ActiveRain. I just started blogging too. Such a nervous feeling to post the first one!! LOL... But it is VERY addicting. Did you find out anything more about AR classes?? I would like to sign up too. Good luck & God bless! ~ Vienna
Hi Joyce,
Great to "meet" you here. I'm just north of you in Temecula and signed up yesterday.
I read a book by Gary Keller that had a story in it about an art class that was divided into two groups. One group was asked to make 1 perfect flower pot (or something) the other group was to make as many of them as they could. The result??? The group that made as many as they could wound up making a bunch and the quality ended up being better than the other "1" that was made by the other half of the class.
My distraction has always been over-thinking things because I want it to be perfect. Blogging (and responding to other's blogs) is helping me do more on the fly. I'll get better as I do it more - the important part is just committing to it and doing it.
Jump in w/ both feet and go for it!
I found a couple of things that may help with the training:
http://activerain.com/university has online training classes.
http://activerainguide.com/ has tons of information by AR users. Do a search for how to blog or browse the categories on the right side.
Hi Joyce, I also just started getting my feet wet with blogging. It was hard in the begin, but after a few it get easyer, just keep writing.
Good luck with your blogging Joyce.... you know what they say "you don't have to be great to start but you have to start to be great!"
I have the same problem too but trying to overcome it by reading others blogs and commenting on it. That will help to warm you up. Check out their online classes as well. Welcome!
See, Joyce, how many friends you can make without even trying?!
Glad to see you here.
I'm new to Joyce, but I will tell you, I have save a lot of money with the blogs from active rain with driving people to my website. Its the best deal in town.
Joyce,
It is addicting once you get started, but there is alot of good advice out there. I will be waiting to hear more from you. As I always say there is no such thing as strangers, just friends we have not met yet.
