Roosevelt Island New York Feng Shui:  A Little Piece of Manhattan New York with Some Good Feng Shui!

Although as New York Feng Shui Consultants Laura Cerrano and I are used to working in different parts of both Long Island New York and all over New York City, we have never had the opportunity to visit Roosevelt Island New York.

We were called recently for a Feng Shui Consultation in Roosevelt Island NY and took the opportunity to Feng Shui a lovely new Condo for our Feng Shui Client.

Roosevelt Island has a rich and interesting history, at one time called both Welfare Island and Blackwell Island; it once housed a Women's Insane Asylum, a Smallpox Hospital and a jail which held some prisoners such as Billie Holiday and Dutch Schultz.

Today, Roosevelt Island New York offers a beautiful, open space with lovely old Architecture and just several buildings:  a Co-op, a Rental and a building for Condominiums which is where we had our Feng Shui Consultation.

Be prepared if you visit Roosevelt Island in New York.  It is 100 feet below sea level and one of the lowest subway systems in the Country.  You can also take a tram but the Island itself was not built for cars.   Roosevelt Island is only two miles wide and has beautiful views across to Manhattan's Upper East Side from 46th Street to 85th Street in New York City.

Our client's condo was a lovely place to Feng Shui and surprisingly, needed very little changes.  He has already experienced an increase in business which he attributes to the Feng Shui Consultation in his Condo and our follow ups will continue.

Here are some views taken from Roosevelt Island New York across the River to Manhattan New York's Upper East Side:

Roosevelt Island is one of those places that even living in manhattan I've never really been.  You see it all the time, but there hasn't been a reason to go check it out.

Hey, Carole - I have to admit that I didn't read the text because I was too busy looking at the pictures. You shouldn't put such nice pictures in your post if you want people to read the text! LOL

Carole, I remember as a teen always being fascinated by the tram to Roosevelt Island.  I's see it from the car each time we crossed the 59th street bridge.  I had heard "stories" about the place and it sounded creepy.  Thanks for the facts.

FYI, Sylvester Stallone had a major scene using that tram in one of his movies.  I'll have to dig up the info.

Carole, Roosevelt Island looks like a beautiful place!  I have never before visited New York City. I've been to Rochester before. And, I've never been on a subway.  Shocking, isn't it?  I guess I've got to expand my horizons and get out and see the world.

Now you've got me googling Roosevelt Island to find out the population. I'm guessing there are a bunch of people living there?

Craig,  Isn't that something?  If it weren't for the consultation it's likely we wouldn't have been there, either.

Jo, Just when I believe I know New York....always something new to discover!

Cynthia, There's so much about New York I can't keep it straight sometimes...don't feel badly :)

Nu, Contact me anytime, I can tell you some very wonderful places to visit!

Pat, Some of these things I didn't know myself until I went to look up the history...it's long and rich.

Toula, I don't like escalators....you can't imagine how tiring that climb was.  Thank goodness for sneakers :)

Morgan, Isn't that true?  I'd love to go back on a warmer day (with the tram!)

William, I will try to do that right now...Thank you so much, I hope I can change groups.

Sally, It's different.  I hope you know I'd take you anywhere you wanted to visit!

Russel, Very funny.  I strive to get some good shots :)

Maggie, I have a picture of that Tram somewhere and had no idea it was used in a movie.  Goodness, if I can find it I'll put it up.

Jackie, Quite honestly, neither did I until I got home and did a little investigating!

Marlene, This was a first for me as well....but I would love to go back on a warmer day and really explore it.

Debra, I wish I used escalators....I don't.  I'm just glad there were no heels involved (I made that mistake in Paris :)

Sandy, You would probably be surprised at NYC and the subways.  Some of the things you have to see behind and if you can do that, you'll love it here!

Dena, Somewhere between 9,000 to 10,000 is what I remember reading...I should have included that.

Cheryl, I'm going back myself when it's warmer.....would love to synchronize it!!

Carole- What an interesting story and to think that with its history being such that it has good feng shui today. That in itself is a testament to its true beauty
