Snobby Brokers in Kennebunk - Act a fool , only fool yourself

I just wanted to share a recent experience I had and has actually been repeated a few times in my career. Normally when someone comes to my open house I greet them, with a smile, a handshake, a "Hi Im Justin Douglass, Green Tree Realty", you know the drill. Well when a broker comes they almost always love to announce they are a broker and give me their card and 90% of the time they are nice people.

The last few times I have met a female broker older then me, from "kennebunk" they have treated me like i was not even there. They ask questions and then answer them before I even say anything, basically talking to hear themselves talk. They say things in a condescending way. They even try to tell me how great they are themselves.

The funny thing is i ACTUALLY DO LISTEN when other people talk, and the crap that comes out of their mouths, geez if they didnt have family money or spouse money and had to actually earn their clients, they would starve!

I am a tad bit jealous of the ones who actually do sell big money properties because they know someone, not because they have any idea what is really happening.

I know its wrong to generalize because I have only met say 10 brokers out of kennebunk, but id have to say half of them at least were kinda rude and snobby. And I am not being a sexist in any way, but i cannot remember any of the men I have worked with down there walking around with their nose up high.

And back to the most recent experience, the woman didnt say she was a broker until she was ready to leave, when I handed her my card she was sure to "critique" and still was too good to introduce herself, or waste a card on me. I guess she is one reason I say kennebunk brokers are snobby, which is all i have to go on since thats how she identified herself.

This business is about working well with others and when people act a fool they are only fooling themselves

Hi Justin,

I know what you mean. Most of the agents and brokers around my area are great, but there are the exceptions, often in the high-priced towns of Hillsborough, Woodside and Los Altos Hills. (Even in those communities, however, most of the agents are just fine.)

Can you imagine what their days must be like with that feeling of entitlement?

Remember the expression 'let it slide off like water on a duck's back.'

Wishing you continued enjoyment!
