Suzanne, Many people like puppies too much.....and many people are in hard times now and cannot afford keeping their pets so they just abandon them instead of taking them to a shelter where they may be adopted.    Do you know about the Animal Rescue site? -----Gloria

Poor little guy. Some of the best dogs are the adopted. They appreciate a good home. This is terrible.

Debi - It's a heart string pulling picture. VERY effective.

Gloria - I'm so happy you wrote that. Great minds run on the same track. I wrote a post exactly one year ago today "Feed a rescue animal for free" and that link was in it. I'm clicking to feed them most every day. I'll feel better knowing you are too!

Monique - I agree with you. No one greets me at the door like my 2 rescue dogs, if I'm gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours, they are thrilled that I came home.

Suzanne, That site is my default site when I log on to the internet.  I click that and all the other sites that come with it (Feed the hungry, click to help give a free mamogram, etc) before I start my work for the day.  It is a good feeling to be able to help in that simple way.  Glad to hear you are clicking also!    ---Gloria

Such a great cause with a very true message.  Both of our pups are rescue dogs, and any that we get in the future will be as well.  All f thse animals deserve a good, loving home.

Hello Suzanne,

Such a sad photo with a powerful message.  Thank you for your posts on animal rescue and animal welfare.  Your photos and messages will help to alert people to adopt not shop, spay & neuter pets and if a pet owner is facing hard times due to the economy to not abandon their pets but to find an animal shelter or animal rescue group that will take their pets in.  I can't understand how people can just leave their pets behind to fend for themselves.  It's all so sad....we are finding starving animals & many are already found dead in vacant homes in our area.  Thank you for helping....

Rita

Suzanne ~ I saw this before. So terrible. I was looking online last night at the local animal shelters for a new dog. My "Sam" passed away about 1.5 ago. He was a pound dog and were there for a couple years. No one anted him becasue he was so big. He was the best and I will never find one like him.

Suzanne, I've been getting a little closer day by day to adopting the right dog.  I used to have two Dalmations (Brothers)...miss them a lot and would like to adopt another...just having a hard time commiting to it.  One of these days though it will be decided in an instant.

Gloria - I did my click this morning! How about you?

Jim & Maria - Rescue Mom & Dad's have the biggest hearts.

Rita - When we get to heaven, we'll find God meant for all of us to have a dog which is why it's spelled that way, like a clue to a mystery.

Monique - Big dogs give better kisses.

Nick - You're so right. Commitment is the big issue. After Dusty died, it took 6 months to stop myself from performing my daily routines for her. I would go to the place where her food and bowls were kept and just stare when I realized there wasn't a need any more. Then 5 years passed and I deciced there were other puppies that needed to be loved. And now I have 2 fabulous dogs that I can't picture my life without.
