Two Reasons that Frisco, TX is HOT this JULY!

David Beckham plays in Frisco TX1. BECKS in TEX! DAVID BECKHAM and the LA Galaxy will be playing FC Dallas at Pizza Hut Park on July 31! That's right...unless you've been living under a rock lately, the Beckham's arrival in the US has been one of the biggest entertainment stories this year. "Becks" himself will be in our backyard for what is sure to be a sold-out game. Get your tickets if you still can. The action starts at 7 PM. Will you be there?

2. Frisco Farmers Market to open this Friday, July 20

The Frisco Noon Lions Club and Frisco Square will host the NEW Frisco Farmers Market at Frisco Square this Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - or until sellout.  The address is 6048 Frisco Square Boulevard, directly across from the Frisco City Hall and Library.

Keith Copp, the farmer who caused much excitement at Freedom Fest is returning, along with a new producer, The Honey Pot Store from McKinney. We're recruiting more vendors too, but the official "Grand Opening" will be next weekend, July 27-28 and will run through October.

PLEASE come out on Friday and Saturday! We are very grateful to these first two participants and want to show them there IS a market for fresh produce and products in Frisco. We want them to COME BACK and to tell other vendors how great it is in Frisco!

The effort to start a Farmers Market started with the Frisco community. The City staff, the Lions, the Main Street Merchants and everyone else seems to really want this to want it to succeed. If we continue to get that support, our market will become a regular weekend feature of life in Frisco.  If you interesting in participating, contact Bob O'Bannon, Frisco Farmers Market Coordinator at bob@friscofarmersmarket.com or 214-538-8161.

So there you have it...David Beckham and fresh produce! Both sound delicious in my book!

Well - I didn't think I'd been under a rock - but apparently I had since I had no idea Beckham had come over from the UK.  Is it permanent?

Tony...yes, Becks signed a $250 million dollar deal with the LA Galaxy. He and his lovely wife made the move to LA permanently.

Michelle...I agree!

Hi Kim, my husband is there at the game tonight, unfortunately Beckham is a NO SHOW! Typical for those superstars - sell out the crowd, build up a frenzy and don't show up! Luckily my husband is a super soccer fan so this isn't a big deal but I'm sure there are lots of disappointed fans....
