It has happened! We are in escrow!! During the summer of '09, my wife and I wrote an offer on a cute home in Roseville. It was a Short-Sale. Our offer didn't get excepted as another offer had come in with 1/2 down. We were both very dissapointed as we felt that out of all the offers that we had written over the past year, this was the house for us. We felt at home, the very first time that we walked though it.
Just before Thanksgiving, our Realtor called and asked if we remembed that cute house in Roseville. Yes, of course we do! Well, the bank had finished their Short-Sale process and went back to the buyer with 1/2 down. That buyer had grown tired of waiting and bought another home, so our offer was first in line now! We were overjoyed! AND we had to re-submit our offer because the appraisal had come in almost 30K less than our offer price. Twist my arm, OK!
About a week ago, we got the call that we were OFFICALLY in ESCROW! It has been a little over 1 year that we started looking and writing offers. Through the course of this past year, we did get excepted offers on a few other homes that we really didn't want, but wrote offers anyway expected to hear No again. I'm glad that we did not settle. We got the house that we want!
Escrow should be closing in a few weeks and my wife and I will finally be Home Owners! Heinz Ketchup said it, "The best things come to those who wait".
