You don't need a high ranking website. You've got Active Rain!!

Let me start by saying that having a website PERIOD is very important in Real Estate. Where it ranks in Google is not that big of a deal. Here's why...

Everytime you blog on AR you are basically creating a small website about that topic. MOST importantly, this "small website" is instantly searchable and generally ranks VERY high within the search engines.

Let's say that you wrote a blog about "Avalon Franklin TN" and included that phrase within your topic and throughout your INFORMATIVE text within your blog, then BOOM... You have an instant website (blog) about that neighborhood that will more than likely be ranked very high in the search engines.

Now, JUST because you have written an informative "website" about a neighborhood doesn't mean that it will be effective. YES, it will be ranked but it MUST be effective.

Here is how to make an effective blog/mini site.

1) If you have an IDX search on your real website then USE IT. This is where your leads willThe Laurels Bretnwood Tn more than likely come from. Think about it... People are searching for homes. That is how they found your blog. They searched for "Avalon Franklin TN" and on the first page of Google your beautiful blog shows up! At the end of your blog you always need to include a search button. This button will then be connected to your IDX search in which you have created an automatically generated search for that neighborhood. "Click the home button to see all of the homes for sale in Avalon in Franklin TN".

2) ALWAYS include some sort of link back to your real website. Links are crucial to getting your website ranked one day. The more you blog, the more links you will create and the higher you will rank. Simply putting your link (http://www.sstrickhausen.com) is one thing but adding a button (like the one above) makes it that much easier for your visitors to click on. You want their search to be as simple and inviting as possible.

3) Include pictures of the neighborhood. This makes your "mini website" look more appealing and more avalon franklin tnlikely for someone to want to search further into that particular home search.

Before you know it, you will have a blog on every neighborhood in your area! This will make you HIGHLY visible to people searching online and bring in the business!
Good Luck!

That's what I'm seeing - help for the webless!  LOL!  Still getting up and running, but it's obvious AR is a far better $40 spent than on the web site!

Stephen, button, button, who's got the button? How do I go about adding a button to my blog and making it work?

I agree that AR has leveled the playing field somewhat. I have had a website on page one of google for years but I also see the value of AR!

I still think that your website ranking high is important. Some people will look for a website, not a blog.

Craig,

You will basically need to find a picture online that you can download onto your desktop. From there you can add it into your blog and then add a link to the button (This is all done within your blog).
