Since I now feel better about posting technology tips that I am just learning about although many of you may already know about them. I asked permission from Scott and Tim of Oakley Signs and Graphics to copy this post, which first appeared in last Tuesday's Oakley Signs & Graphic's "Tuesday Tactics" newsletter http://www.tuesdaytactics.com/."  If you are not already signed up to receive this newsletter, I highly recommend that you do since it is filled every week with good ideas.  Scott and Eric are also willing to link to your website, which I still am learning how to do, a must activity if you wish to get better web site positioning from the search engines.

Here is their tip for inexpensively setting up a name and phone number web site: Telephone Graphic

"Email Strategy: The Phone Number Domain - Get your name and number in one place...

Looking for a quick and easy way to get your name and your phone number attached to every email you send? Try this quick and inexpensive trick:

1. Pick the phone number you'd like to get in front of people most often, including area code

2. Go to GoDaddy.com and reserve the phone number as a domain name (with dashes). For example: 555-123-4567.com. (Replace this number with your own phone number, of course.)

3. Have an email address setup using the phone number domain name you purchased. Your webmaster or hosting company can help you with this. You could use either your first name, or your first and last name.

4. Optionally, you can have your email program reply to all email using your new address:

Example:
yourname@555-123-4567.com

Variations:
tina@555-123-4567.com
tinasmith@555-123-4567.com
tina-smith-realestate@555-123-4567.com

Now your clients will have your name and contact phone number readily available!

It's also a good idea to have the phone number domain redirect to your main website. Most hosting companies or webmasters can help you set this up easily. This way, your phone number domain will also point people right back to your real estate website.

Click here to reserve your phone domain name for just $7.49 through GoDaddy.com.

(Full disclosure: Purchasing through the above link will not only give you a great discount, but it also helps us (Oakley Signs and Graphics) defray the cost of the Tuesday Tactics newsletter.  You can buy your domain name anywhere you like, no strings of course-- but we'd certainly appreciate the boost.)"

Oakley Signs and Graphics is doing a great job sharing ideas with the Real Estate Broker community.  If you have any sign or graphics needs, please give them a chance to compete for your business.  And for more of their great tips, go to http://www.freehelpforrealestateagents.com/

Thanks for your comments, Irina and Marcia.  I just set up a new A/R Group called "running hard to keep up with technology" and would love to have you join in.  The idea is to share/re-share great tech ideas that some of us may not know/understnd, even though they have been out there for some time.  No shame if you feel, as I do, that you are "behind the 8 ball" when it comes to being up on the latest technology tips!
