Wild Maine Weather (But I'm still here selling real estate!)!

It's been a wild few days here in the Northeast and Maine was definitely not spared!  Wind gusts of up to 70 MPH have been reported overnight and there are almost 200,000 of us on the CMP grid without power today!  For those of you who are currently out of state and want to check to see if your road has power, click this link for Central Maine Power: http://www3.cmpco.com/Outage/townOutages.aspx?servicecenter=0046

For those on the Bangor Hydro grid, click this link: http://www.bangorhydro.com/about/outages.cfm  I would include Kennebunk Light & Power, but their website is under construction.

Some have had snow, some torrential rain (we got 6" in my area) and everyone has had wind.  A friend of mine who lives at the ocean reports waist high sea foam on the beach from the astronomical high tides!  Sand, seaweed, wooden stairs and other "ocean gifties" are strewn everywhere!  Shingles off homes, trees down, roads washed out - you name it, we've got it!  The cleanup and power outages will be going on for a long time, I'm afraid.

BUT - I am here at my office in Wells working with buyers and sellers, so do drop in!  We have heat, electricity, water - and no large pines anywhere near our parking lot, so your vehicles are safe here as well!

Enjoy the day and send some power our way!

Carole-That does not sound like fun.  Good thing you can hang out at your office for the day and hope that the power is back on when you get home.  A few years ago we had that same problem.  After two days we went to motel for night more for a shower than a warm bed.  We have well & septic so no power means no water either.

Good luck.  Be safe.

Hi Mary!  Thanks for stopping in!  So far, I don't think a lot of progress has been made to restore power in my area...yet, SIGH!  We also have well and septic.  No fun!!!!  And tomorrow I get to meet a new client first thing in the morning, oh NO!

Ugh!  If you were closer you could stop in for dinner and I have an extra bedroom.

Here is what I did when our power was out.  I pascked my overnight bag before dark, got up early and went to the office.  I washed my hair & face in the ladies room before anyone arrived.  One day I could deal with roughing it.  Good luck.

LOL, thanks, Mary!  That's awful nice of you!  I'll probably have to go to the shelter (Wells Elementary) to catch a shower in the a.m..  The sinks in our bathrooms here at the office are really small!

Carole,

Just checking to make sure you are okay.  I am sending some sunshine your direction.  We have had three sunny days in a row.  Love it.
