How is Phoenix Arizona? Great!!

Arizona is wonderful!

It is much different here from the Oregon Coast. No ocean, and lots of cactus. The weather is beyond great for someone who doesn't like to be cold.

My husband has a great job and I am able to stay at home for the time being and learn some new skills. I am going to be completing a course on teaching English as a second language and have also received a certificate for beginning grant writing. I am also taking on some freelance writing projects and believe that by trying to explore new avenues and keep my options wide open we will make it through to the other side.

From my observations the real estate market here is just like everywhere else in the country. Many foreclosures, short sales, investors taking advantage of the low prices, and a few first time home buyers trying their hands at purchasing their first home. I believe we will not see a sturdy and secure market again until the flood of foreclosures and short sales are remedied.

I look forward to what the future holds. I think we all need to keep a positive attitude and look for every opportunity and take chances. I did not want to leave my home in Oregon, but I feel for this time we are where we are suppose to be. And it is a good thing!Buckeye Arizona

Just got back from a short trip to Scottsdale.  LOVE IT!!!!  Arizona beats the pants of Florida in my opinion - in both weather and landscape.

Ann~ I love Scottsdale! I went to an outdoor concert in October last fall and we were sweating! :) The band was from New York and they were happy to be here at the time because they were already experiencing winter weather then!

David~ Whenever there is work involved in a move that is a plus. :)

TODD!!! I am seeing what I can do about becoming more active. And about the heat...that is why we have AC and swimming pools.

Hi Lori,  It's great to hear from you and find out what you have been doing in Arizona.  I'm glad your husband has a great job so it was worth the move from your beloved Oregon.  Love the picture!  Check in as often as you can and let us know how things are going! :o)

I just read some of your previous posts and I am disappointed you decided to leave Oregon, you can tell by your writing you had a passion for the Oregon Coast. But, I understand family comes first and yours was given an opportunity you couldn't pass up.

I see you said above you maybe becoming more active here again soon, look forward to reading those posts.
