Radon educated realtors

How much do realtors know about radon? I had a realtor call the other day and when I asked if his client would like the home tested for radon ,he replied " We don't have much of that around here". Are you kidding?! I tested home in that area with very high levels. This area of the country has the highest levels.I can test one house and the one next to it will have totally different levels.Oviously he has not had much education on the subject of Radon. I didn't want to argue with him because he was price checking for his client. If I do get the inspection ,you can bet I will give the buyer all the radon info available. It is funny because high levels are always fixable and it is "not a deal killer". For more info visit http://www.epa.gov/radon/realestate.html

I've run into the same situation many times here in PA.  I also get a kick out of realtors or clients who are very concerned on one hand about CO (carbon monoxide)....I've over heard many conversations about how CO is an "odorless, colorless gas that can be lethal", yet the same folks aren't concerned about, or don't 'believe' in radon.  Go figure....

Keep your NACHI self safe, my friend.

They whent ahead and did the test and it came out high (over 11 pCi/l). The deal was not killed and everybody is now informed and aware.
