The Touchdown Club of Houston at its Sportmanship luncheon on January 20, 2010 held at the JW Marriot as presented by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes awarded local area High Schools for the best display of Sportmanship during this last football season. This years' awards were given to both Seven Lakes and Cinco Ranch. Seven Lakes was first and Cinco Ranch was third which is a very impressive showings by these two fine schools. Second place was Dobie High School. Several schools made the Finalist list for this years awards. Congratulations to all of the winners and to those teams who made it to the finals.
Area high schools were rated by referee squads at various football games held though the greater Houston area. The referees are looking at the way teams/coaches act, the way support groups of parents act and the respect shown for the American flag.
The keynote speaker was Pro Football Hall of Fame member Brude Mathews who played here for the Houston Oilers and is a class individual as well as a great football player.
Sports is not all about just winning and here is Katy we also know a little about Sportmanship as evidenced by these awards.
