How do you get a blog on the homepage?

By
Real Estate Agent with David Ellis Real Estate

So I normally write blogs that are short, sweet, and often repetitive simply for SEO points.  I could do better, but I'm more worried with speed and effectiveness, as opposed to how the real estate world thinks my writing skills are.  However, I can't help but think that not 1 of my post has ever been on the homepage.  That is some major exposure for agents, that I think I may want to start taking advantage of.  Of course, not every day or probably even every other day am I going to be writing super interesting post.  However, Id like to know how to do it, so when I get some down time I can write a revitting blog post.

So my question is, how do you get on the homepage?  Who selects your post to go on the homepage?  Is their a magic trick to get there?

If anyone knows, please feel free to chime in...

You have to start writing your blogs from a position of giving your knowledge to the consumers and the AR community Austin; that is how you get Featured on the home page.

Participate in Groups and Subscribe to the best blogs.  Then your new AR Friends will read your blog and nominate it whenever they think it is the type of entry that the entire community should see.

I did some research on this a few months ago here:  http://activerain.com/blogsview/1449774/how-to-nominate-a-featured-blog-entry

A referral is sending someone you care about to someone you trust!

Austin...

Just write posts that appeal to a broad range of readers ... the first page is ActiveRain's consumer face so the posts there have to be compelling.

Your blog should not just be about speed and SEO it's also a voice for your clients and colleagues to get to know you.

If you read any of the featured blogs on Active Rain you'll see why they were posted to the "home page".   I only happened upon this blog because I was searching the Plano page on AR and saw you there with several postings and then checked out your blog and honestly I had not seen your blogs before. You may want to join some more Texas local groups where you can network with your fellow North Texans.  Both Vic and Richard above gave you some great insight.
