Kiss Saturday Mail Delivery GOODBYE!!!!

Education & Training with Finance of America Mortgage Winchester VA Branch NML#1071

Our office is located in downtown, OLD TOWN Winchester Virginia.  Like many communities our mail is hand delivered by a fit and friendly postal worker who KNOWS US and we appreciate his smile with our mail.   The postal service has been riding a collission course to financial disaster for several years now and its about to hit the wall!

The annaul stamp hike has been a symptom of a broken system and now Saturday mail delivery is at risk.  The service has made serious efforts to become competative with UPS and FED EX with its cool online click and ship and lower rates . . . but how many people know about them? Read the full article below and decide it you will miss getting your catalogs on Saturday  . . or if you can wait TWO whole days for more fun to arrive at your doorstep!

Bye-bye, Saturday mail?

USPS proposes a five-day delivery schedule, a reduction in retiree health benefits and a shut-down of many of its branches, as the agency works its way out of a mountain of debt.

Thanks for sharing. We will have to live with any changes in the delivery schedule. In the current world, immediate communications go by email.

Too much waste for too long ? Probably.....I remember the olden days when special delivery for an extra little bit would get a letter delivered on Sunday.....

I understand that they need to cut costs.  I think we will get used to no Saturday delivery.

I have received my mail at our local Keswick,VA post office box for 15+ years and my husband has had the same box # for over 30 * right next to Sissy Spacek's....we no longer have clerk window services on Saturday; however, they do put up the mail in our mail boxes.

I love USPS services * priority mail and delivery confirmation * so I use window services during their weekday business hours

I find it interesting that they are headed in the direction of cutting Saturday delivery.  It instantly makes me think about the idea of our government running health care and how that will go.

we'll adjust to no saturday mail delivery just as we have to all of the other cut backs.....I'm sure it won't be the last.
