Dont sweat the small stuff!

Mortgage and Lending with Draper and Kramer NMLS# 189006

Today I attended a memorial service for a friend of mine, who lost his brother in law last year to cancer.  Rob Mullany was an 11 year veteran of the  Glendale Heights Police Department, a husband and father of 6 children.  Rob was only 37 years old.  Rob is a very well respected member of the community and made a big difference in the lives of many.

Unfortunately what Rob left behind is 6 beautiful children and a wife.  One of the children is handicap, his name is Connor. Unfortunately Connor's disabilities make it very difficult for him to walk without assistance of a walker, to develop and mature as a "normal" child, or to possibly ever live on his own.  Yet everytime I see Connor he has a smile on his face from ear to ear.

After church tonight, I told my husband that we really have alot to learn from this beautiful boy!  Life is what you make of it.  Don't sweat the small stuff!  In Connor's eyes I always see joy and happiness regardless of his disabilities.

Life is too short to always be angry, life is too short to be unhappy!

Today, tell those most important to you how much they are loved!

Nineteen years of excellence!

Wow what a tragedy! I don't know what is going on but everywhere I hear about more and more young people dying from cancer.  Is it our food, our lifestyles, our water???

Best Wishes,

Kim, this is such a sad story. May he rest in peace.

Is it amazing that people who are born with disability tend to deal with their disability much better than the people who surround them?

Fran... Last year we attended many fundraisers to help Stephanie and the kids, I am not sure if the Police Department is still accepting donation or not.  We just try to help in other ways now.  If you click on the link for the poker run there are a couple of numbers to contact someone, they may know better about donating or helping the family.  Thank you for asking!

Hi Kim, First let me offer my condolences for the loss of a friend. Second, you are so right about not "sweating the small stuff." We'll live a happier life in the process.

Vicki... I did add it to, but I don't see it on there, it may take a day to update? I will check again tomorrow!  They are doing ok?!  Very tough on Stephanie, hard for her to work with the kids, especially one that is disabled, and the insurance has run out, so the cost of that is VERY expensive.  My dentist agreed to do all their dental work for FREE!  That has helped!  They have a very large close family, so it helps keep things going!  Thanks for asking!

How did your toys for tots ride go?  The ride for kids was awesome!  Just waiting for some pictures to get it put together to post!  Over 2500 bikes!
