I Need To Take A Vacation!

As active professionals, we need to take some time off to recharge our batteries.  Some say that they can't afford to take the time off but I say you can't afford not to take time off.

When I get stuck in a rut I know I have to do something else other that real estate.  My two main distractions is rebuilding an old car and scuba diving.  I have a 52 Chevy that I have been working on for a while.  Sometimes I just take it for a ride out in the country. 52 Chevy

I also enjoy underwater photography.  The phone don't ring 80 feet down.  Cozumel Dive

It would be interesting to hear what others do for fun.

I need to take my own advice more often.  Taking time off helps me get my head on streight and I am able to set my priorities in the proper order.

That's right!  You must make the time to take care of yourself....

I spend time with my 2 year old grandson. He helps me to put everything else in perspective.

I just came back from a "vacation" but don't feel like I even got away. I'm not complaining, but six days is just not long enough! Sometimes it's just easier to plug into my ipod to really get away.  But you are right--you have to find a way to get away from the business.

Some people take vacations that really not vacations. like spending it with relatives in their home.  Sometimes that's more work than not.  The only exception as Margo says,  is grand kids.  You can spoil them and not pay the consequences.  I like to take at least 10 days off.  That's just about right.

I usually need a vacation from my vacation. I go and visit family and it's non-stop on the go all day every day.

That's the point Nathan, that's not a vacation.  My daughter is getting married, she lives in another state.  It is going to be work, I know it.  I will be glad to get back from that one.

Ray - sometimes it's visting family, other times it's a good workout at the gym but a good baseball game is pretty hard to beat.

Or scuba diving or just going for a long drive to explore places you've never been before.

Ray, in the past vacations for me have been trips to Aruba, Las Vegas, Tahoe, etc.  I've always enjoyed the Casinos and I also love getting out into nature.  Lately I've been less interested in those longer trips because of the "vacation from my vacation" factor.

Now, I mostly try to get away on my motorcycle.  I like being alone or maybe with a long time riding buddy of mine who is of the same mind.

Whatever it is you do or don't do to take a break from it all...just remember the clock is ticking.

You got the right idea Nick.  What I hate is being on vacation and getting one of those phone calls that brings it all crashing back.
