I am starting to blog more, that's all we hear now. I have my point 2 blog but I don't think that it very productive on the search engines.  I do like the fact that when I do blog on activerain it shows up very quickly on google.  My question is that I am seeing results with activerain on what I am doing now so why do I need an outside blog for activerain? What am I missing here?  Did I read something about grandfathered accounts get free outside blog??.....Any thoughts?

Chip - I opted for an outside blog about a year ago and use it as my website blog. That allows me to provide fresh content on the website each time I blog.  Of course, a few of my blogs aren't appropriate for the website, so I just keep them here on AR.  I've found it useful although I'm sometimes frustrated by the slow speed and proxy errors that AR hasn't yet resolved.

My broker Todd Clark has two outside blogs, he loves them and after he explained it to me, I can understand why! You see when someone finds his posts on Google they find his outside blog and not Activerain, when they click on a link, they stay within his blog and never accidentally find another agent to use.

Thanks John and Connie, I certainly understand how you want to keep the traffic within your site.  I work on that a lot with my website. My next question is, I know John you use the Activerain outside blog, do any of you use Wordpress as well? It's free so why would I pay for something if I can get it for free?  Just looking for your two cents.  Also do you see results on your google seaches quickly with your outside blog? Thanks. Chip
