Dear God, People have written books on how to be highly effective and successful leaders, churches, parents...and so on. I want to become a more effective Christian. Please help me improve my walk and focus on You first in life. I'm giving my thoughts and actions to You. In my own human capacity, without Your guidance, it is impossible for me to be an effective Christian. May your Spirit flow through me and use me to minister to others, to reach out to the lost, and to love those around me with a godly love. May you be glorified. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Darlene, the Lord is really showing me to truly let go of this world and cling to Him.  It is a trust factor, and its so easy to say with you mouth, O Lord, I trust You, but when you actually go through REAL situations, in business, at home, etc...do you REALLY trust Him or do you bump him out of the seat of the throne of your will and take over?  Nobody is willing to admit they do, but I'm bold enough to admit that I do it more often than I like to.  I'm learning that He is the reason for all I have, and all that aspire....He wants to be the center of my desire. Everything else that comes before Him is IDOL WORSHIP....PERIOD!  We can rationalize and justify all we want to, but if our business, clients, even our families get more of our time, attention and adoration, then it is an offense to the Father Who blesses us with all these things in the first place!  

Oh that our hearts be broken and draw closer to His Spirit with a pure heart.  The times we live in are so wicked, we can't afford to miss a beat!  

Let's keep pressing toward the mark of that HIGHER CALLING in Christ Jesus!
