As we all journey through life, we sometimes think about where we are going and what we are doing in relation to our inner Passion.
The true challenge in our human existence is one of our "management" of our willpower. The truth is that willpower is a resource - an energy that gets used up through the day and wanes in power if not exercised regularly.
Passion and desire are cool and necessary. They create the BIG WHY for each of us.
This BIG WHY is the target, the reason for paying attention to our appropriate application of willpower.
Effectively used, Willpower creates appropriate ACTION.
This phenomenon is sometimes referenced as "Taking responsibility" for following what has heart and meaning.
Think small - Have ONE target . . . Your BIG WHY!
ACT BIG by taking complete responsibility for harnessing your willpower such that you are moving TOWARDS that BIG WHY!
Deep inside, you already know your BIG WHY.
It's just there.
Are you paying attention?
Your gut will always tell you if you are on-course.
When your gut hollers, LISTEN!
and take appropriate action . . . BEFORE the Universe decides you need a big old wallop on the head and conspires to rock your world.
That's what's happening when "Life comes at you fast!"
It's just God letting you know that you've slipped off course and stopped paying attention to your passion and that it's time for a bit of corrective action :-0
I know that the little Entrepreneur in me is really somewhat of a Devil on my shoulder . . . a siren call to pull me off course.
I know that it is WILLPOWER that gives air to a PURPOSEFUL way of living.
. . . and I pledge to listen more carefully to myself such that when my end is near, I can say with great satisfaction:
"I'm glad I DID . . . "
instead of:
"I wish I had . . ."
I just had a very sudden change in my life and am no longer Principal Broker and Productivity Coach @ Keller Williams Realty Nashville, TN Green Hills . . .
Life came at me FAST on Friday of last week.
I cycled through all of the grief cycles of disappointment, anger, resignation, fear . . . Participated in blame games . . . and generally let it consume me for a few days . . . The Entrepreneur in me was taking me in many different directions.
God bless my wife who stood beside me through the turmoil and helped me own my own responsibility for what happened
The Coach in me started talking to me . . . and reminded me of my BIG WHY!
and so . . .
FULL SPEED AHEAD on building a WONDERFUL Real Estate Sales Team here in Nashville, TN without what had been for 8 years a gauntlet of "Willpower destroying distractions" coming at me in the form of Principal Broker issues"
To keep my saw sharp, I'll continue to coach a handful of agents . . .
As painful as it was . . . I am now glad it happened.
Having said all of that . . .
