you are wrong...

Real Living Online Tool Training at 1:00 today is Real Living Website Builder part one!   In November on a post written by Stefan Swanepoel (author, speaker and  real estate trends guru) about the Real Living GMAC merger  'Merge Creates One of the Largest Real Estate Franchises in Northern America' a GMAC agent commented:

"Has anyone found a Real Living agent anywhere that doesn't have a templated Real Living website? I haven't found one. Does that mean we will all have to ditch our own websites and replace them with templeted Real Living sites?

And...I just pretended that I was looking for a Real Living agent in Texas, and found 48 agents. However, all of their sites looked almost identical, with almost identical content. The links were different, but all the stuff about the agent was almost exactly the same. And I thought, "I have no way, other than gender or race or age or look of the photo, to base a decision on which agent I choose." This is scary... So I'm begging one of you guys, check my research and tell me I'm wrong. Especially some of you Real Living higher-ups listening in, please, tell me I'm wrong."

you are wrong...

While I am not a Real Living "higher-up" I did answer his question on Stefan's ActiveRain post.  I said basically, "you are wrong" providing a number of websites of Real Living agents who have websites that are NON Real Living sites.  A link to my comment where I named names...provided the urls....

I wanted to go on and tell him how my 'templated Real Living website ' could kick his websites butt... but that just would have been just wrong, wouldn't it?

you are wrong!

He was wrong.  There are a number of agents who use websites in my market that are not the Real Living company Web Builder website.   Not being a Real Living "higher up" I certainly don't know the companies stance on outside websites... but this (my ActiveRain blog)  is one, my WordPress blog is one.  A number of people in my market have "Outside" websites, both static sites and Web 2.0 sites.  Hopefully he's asked his  broker about having to "ditch your website."  I'd assume if you've got a "kick ass" real estate website... you would continue to use it.

Many agents have not embraced all the website opportunities out there.  Will they work on differentiating their Real Living Web Builder site?  That's up to them.

You are wrong though I believe to turn up your nose at the website Real Living provides agents.  Or to decide because the sites you were able to locate had not differentiated the content on their website that the Real Living Website Builder websites can't be customized.
