Wellington Florida Village Park Gets New Skate Park!

I am posting this again because the skate park had closed for quite awhile due to some teenagers not following the safety rules. The Village has made some changes and re-opened, just in time for some nice Spring weather!

The Wellington Florida Village Park Recreation Center, located at 11700 Pierson Road in Wellington Florida, has done it again! They have built a skate park for the beginner and the avid skate boarders! In-line skaters are welcome, too!

Technically, its a relocation of the original skate park that was located on Wellington Trace.
But since many more children visit the 93-acre park on Pierson Road, it made more sense to move the skate park.

My son loves to skate. He has been playing hockey at the Wellington Florida Village Park Recreation Center for 6 years and is 12 years old now. He is definitely an accomplished skater, and was so excited when he saw the skate park. Here he is getting some air!

Wellington Florida Village Park Recreation Center features a gymnasium, 4 football fields, 5 soccer fields, 4 baseball/softball fields, 2 hockey rinks,3 pavilions, a tot lot, and my favorite-a walking/jogging trail with heart fitness stations along the path-that I like to use while my son has a practice. It definitely has something for everyone.

Hi Gary-thanks-we love it here! It is a fairly new town in the scheme of things-was established 20 years ago but has alot of new construction-malls-in the past 7 years.

I'm ready for some nice spring weather! This looks like fun but I would probably only go if it wasn't crowded because I haven't been on skates in years. Keeping the kids busy with something not video-game related is getting tougher but this looks like it would entertain them pretty well!

Jenn-its really great on cool days and blue skies! You wouldn't catch me on there, though, those kids are going too fast for me!

Barb-it costs the city a little bit of money short-term but maybe saves some money long-term for the kids that have too much time on their hands!
