Outside Blog...is it worth it?

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential CNY Realty

I am looking at the Outside Blog options for Active Rain.  They look good and I like the idea of a customized page.  Are they worth it?  If you are currently using one do you find it to be an advantage?  What are your reasons for using it, what are your reasons for not?  Are you seeing any advantages?  Is it helping with your SEO?  I am debating between signing up for it or not.  Any help in my decision making process would be great!!  Thanks

Hi Jaime,

I too debated the question and started a simple outside blog with AR on a month to month basis...LOL...I always like an "out" if I don't see the value.  You can view it here.

www.myvancouverplaces.com

All my AR posts are about my favourite places in my area and I have found that my SEO and traffic has increased tremendously.  When I compare my RE site stats to the blog stats, there is a big difference.  My blog posts (which I just started a few months ago) are positioning higher in the Google searches than my RE site which I have had for years.

But, I think do what makes sense to you.  It is like anything else.  Do you like blogging?  Do you have time/motivation to blog regularly?  If the answer is yes, then the investment may be worth it.  If not, then it may not be helpful to you.

Have fun out there!  m:-)

It matters to us as much as it matters to you.

Jaime, I have an outside blog with Active Rain, the nice thing about it is that it is a month to month fee and has no long term commitment.  It is too early to notice any up-tick in my traffic bt I am keeping an eye on it and will surely let everyone knoe if I see results.
