The Palm Beach Post recently reported that despite the most serious economic downturn in decades, Florida golfers are still willing to pay to play. “The number of rounds played in South Florida fell only 1.3% from 2008 to 2009 and rose from 2007 to 2008, according to the PGA of America, based in Palm Beach Gardens. And the revenue collected by golf courses dipped 3.8% from 2008 to 2009” The duffers are still coming out in numbers but demanding discounts for play. If only our Real Estate market had dipped that same 3.8%, we would be in better shape.
I wonder if our St. Augsutine area golf courses Marsh Creek Country Club and St. Johns County Golf are seeing the declines.
