Explore the hills and hidden valleys that surround the wineries throughout SOUTH WEST WISCONSIN. Meet the winemakers, and tour their facilities, find out what makes each of their fine wines special. The drift-less region of the state our SOUTH WEST WISCONSIN area is very good for grape growing. You see the hills and bluffs catch the sun's warmth, which creates what the french call "terroir" that's what they call the distinctive taste and the unique characteristics of the grapes grown in a "specific area". That's why a well seasoned wine connoisseur could tell the difference between a California grown wine, and a wine form "God's Country" aka from the Upper Mississippi River Valley. But please remember wine making isn't about science, wine making is a art!

Our wineries of the drift-less region offer more of what one would say is a more traditional variety of grape wines than you will find in other areas. Our South facing slopes of the limestone bluffs offer a complete different micro-climate that you will find allows for the "traditional grapes varieties" to be grown in our soils. Our hillside vineyards have reminded many people of the vineyards you will find in many parts of Europe.
