When Plain Vanilla Just Won't Do...

By
Home Stager with Shows Great Home Staging and Web Solutions

I will be the first to admit that I like vanilla ice cream...but nothing makes vanilla better than a few sprinkles, some hot fudge or some other decatant topping.  This week we staged a plain vanilla townhome and turned it in to a yummy ice cream sunday.  We added a few sprinkles of color here and there and now it pops with color and personality.

Below are a few of the mls photos before we staged and then the new photos we took after staging:

When selling your vacant home call a professional stager and turn your plain vanilla listing into a tempting sundae!

Thanks for sharing. Staging works and makes homes sell more quickly. Some of the lenders need to learn this lesson for the marketing of the REO properties.

Very nice job.  I'm sure the house will get more showings now and sell.

Empty homes just don't sell well

You put the cherry on top of this property!  So dull and drab before.  So gorgeous now.  This is a really good example of why you want to stage vacants.

Adding the "sprinkles", as you do so well, turned this vanilla into something yummy.  Great job!

A sprinkle of nuts with the cherry on top sure helps plain vanilla any day!

Fine job!

Wanda,

Very pretty! Adding color to this plain house has given it a homey feel and added the warmth that it needed.  Using the area rug in the entry also helped to break up the cold looking tile!

Thanks everyone for the comments.  I really appreciate them!

Roy - yes, it is a shame that more REO's don't use staging.

Michael - thanks!  I love it when Real Estate Professionals see the value of staging.

Virginia - you are so right...empty houses are much harder to sell and take much longer than staged homes.

Cathy - thanks!  I hope it sells quickly too.

Kathy - yes, vacant is too cold and staging does add warmth.

Mary Lou - thanks...I like to use orange when staging.  It helps mls photos pop with color.

Sally - thanks.  I really think more and more people are seeing the value of staging their vacant homes.

Ginger - thanks.  I was fun adding the "sprinkles" to this one.

Mannie - thanks "Double Hot Fudge"...I really like that!

Donna - thanks.  I felt the entrance way needed something to help it feel warm and inviting plus we added an engergy efficient light bulb so the lamp can be left on at all times to draw buyers eyes inside when driving by.

Liz - thanks...I agree completely!

Michelle - thanks.  It really did need some warmth and color.

I had a client this week whose entry (with fresh cream paint) was exactly like this one in the before picture.  When I explained that the entry had to had "wow" even she knew it fell far short!  You had buyers impressed from the first minute!
